Achill Island to screen Iran’s ‘Roya’

The Achill Island Film Festival in Ireland is set to screen Iranian short film ‘Roya’.

The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported that ‘Roya’ will take part in the second edition of AIFF.

‘Roya’, directed by Mohammad-Reza Mohammadi, is about a young Afghan couple who tries to illegally enter Europe but faces various challenges.

‘Roya’ was awarded at several festivals, including the Five Continents International Film Festival in Venezuela.

According to an online submission platform, Achill Island Film Festival provides filmmakers with an opportunity to meet hundreds of other filmmakers.

The 2nd edition of Achill Island Film Festival will take place on May 11-13.
